The Wholesale Price Index-based inflation fell marginally to 7.45 per cent in October, down from September's 7.81 per cent, data showed on Wednesday. The number was below the 7.96 per cent estimate by Reuters.

Headline inflation has averaged close to 9 per cent since January 2011.
