The government has withdrawn ban on bulk SMS and MMS with immediate effect today.

The ban was imposed on August 18 to check spread of rumours, which fuelled panic among people from the North East.

Later, the government relaxed the ban a bit on August 23 by allowing the number of bulk SMS and MMS from 5 to 20 per day.
