NCERT advisors quit after uproar in Parliament over cartoon controversy

Two senior National Council Of Educational Research And Training (NCERT) officials have had to resign after the government today apologised in Parliament for a cartoon depicting Dr BR Ambedkar being used in a Class XI textbook.
The cartoon depicts Dr Ambedkar sitting on a snail and Jawaharlal Nehru standing behind him, brandishing a whip. The text alongside suggests Dr Ambedkar went slow on framing the Constitution.
Today, MPs waved copies of the cartoon in Parliament and said it insulted both leaders.
