Baby Afreen passes away in hospital after cardiac arrest

Baby Afreen, the three-month-old girl who was admitted to a hospital in Bangalore after she was assaulted by her father, died this morning after suffering a cardiac arrest.

The three-month-old girl was beaten last week by her father, Farooq Umar, who allegedly wanted a boy, not girl.

Baby Afreen's mother, 19-year-old Reshma Bano had brought her to hospital last week. Her parents say Farooq had a record of beating Reshma too.
