| The aviation regulator or Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has said it is conducting a special safety surveillance of Kingfisher planes in use, though DGCA chief Bharat Bhushan said that there is no cause for concern and passengers need not be worried.
More than 30 Kingfisher flights were cancelled today; five of them out of Mumbai. Kingfisher owner Vijay Mallya said yesterday that he apologises to passengers and that there is no question of shutting down the airline. Kingfisher CEO Sanjay Agarwal met Mr Bhushan this morning.
Out of Kingfisher's 64 aircraft, 28 are operational. Kingfisher has been asked to design a revised schedule by tomorrow.
