India need 290 runs to win the 8th ODI of the tri-series against Sri Lanka in Brisbane.

Electing to bat, Sri Lanka made 289 runs for the loss of six wickets in 50 overs.

Lahiru Thirimanne scored 62, Tillakaratne Dilshan 51, Angelo Mathews 49* and Mahela Jayawardena made 45.

While Irfan Pathan and R Ashwin picked two wickets apiece, Umesh Yadav and Suresh Raina took a wicket each.
