Australia batsman Ricky Ponting slammed a century on Day 1 of the Adelaide Test against India.

Ponting's 41st Test ton is his eighth against India, which he brought up with the help of ten boundaries in 164 balls.

This is his sixth century at the Adelaide Oval.
