Nitin Gadkari not to resign, says BJP

BJP president Nitin Gadkari, confronting corruption charges, will not resign from his post. This was announced by BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar after the party's core committee meeting in Delhi.

"The party is solidly behind him. Reports of his resignation are baseless," Mr Javadekar said tonight.

Mr Gadkari will travel to Himachal Pradesh tomorrow as scheduled to campaign for his party ahead of next month's elections in the state.
