Mulayam Singh Yadav said today that his Samajwadi Party will continue to provide external support to the ruling UPA coalition. "We need to keep communal forces at bay," said Mr Yadav in New Delhi. The government has been reduced to a minority by the decision of Mamata Banerjee, leader of the Trinamool Congress, to withdraw from the coalition over the economic reforms introduced by the government last week.
