A trial court today denied the Delhi Police's request for custody of Aruna Chaddha. Instead, she was sent to judicial custody for a day. Ms Chaddha is a co-accused in the suicide case of former airhostess Geetika Sharma, along with her employer, former Haryana minister Gopal Goyal Kanda.

The Delhi Police had told the court that the original statement of Ms Chaddha is different from that of Mr Kanda and they both need to be confronted with each other.

Ms Chaddha has been in judicial custody for the past three days, after spending seven days in police remand.
