After being asked to bat, Chennai opener Murali Vijay hit 41 off 29 with 4 boundaries and 3 sixes. Dwayne Bravo's 40 off 33 was the second highest individual score in the innings.

RP Singh and Lasith Malinga claimed three wickets each for Mumbai.
