India’s headline inflation in April rises to 7.23%

India's annual rate of inflation for the month of April rose to 7.23 per cent, from 6.9 per cent in March.
Headline inflation, as measured by the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) was higher than the 6.70 per cent that a Thomson Reuters poll of 27 economists had projected.
