| The BJP has retained control over Delhi's municipality, winning 148 out of 272 wards; the Congress has won 71, a gain of 4 over the last time, almost all at the cost of the BJP.
This is the first municipal election after the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) was trifurcated.
In North Delhi, which is a BJP bastion, the party posted a huge win taking 62 of the 104 wards while the Congress managed to get 28. In East Delhi, the BJP won 40 wards out of 64 while the Congress got 14. And in South Delhi, out of 104 wards, 46 went to the BJP while 29 to Congress. | |
