| Nupur Talwar, accused of murdering her 13-year-old daughter Aarushi, has surrendered at the special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Ghaziabad.
She has been taken into custody by the court, which will now hear a bail plea moved by her lawyers. She may have to spend a night or two in jail.
On Friday, Mrs Talwar was ordered by the Supreme Court to surrender at the Ghaziabad court, where her trial is set to begin, and then seek bail there. Nupur's husband, Rajesh Talwar, has also been accused of murder and destruction of evidence.
Aarushi was found dead in her bedroom in the Talwars' Noida apartment in May 2008. Her parents discovered her body. A few hours later, the corpse of their domestic help, Hemraj, was found on their roof. | |
