Cyclone Thane hit the coast of Tamil Nadu on Friday morning, making landfall between Puducherry and Cudallore. Puducherry is currently witnessing heavy rainfall and strong wind. The Met officials have asked people to stay indoors.

Wind speed in Chennai and Puducherry reportedly reached 120 to 135 kms per hour early on Friday morning.
