Australia have beaten India by 122 runs in the 1st Test match at Melbourne.

Chasing a total of 292, India were bowled out for 169 in their second innings.

James Pattinson picked up 4 wickets for Australia while Peter Siddle dismissed 3 Indian batsmen.

Sachin Tendulkar top scored for India with 32 runs.

The second Test match begins on January 3 in Sydney.
