Italy defeat Ireland 2-0 to reach the Euro 2012 quarters

Antonio Cassano and Mario Balotelli score for the Italians

Ireland had already been eliminated after defeats in the previous two games

In the other match, Spain scored a late goal to beat Croatia 1-0

Jesus Navas scored the winner in the 88th minute

With the win Spain topped Group C and eliminated Croatia
